  !CENS: 1870 census for Springfield, Robertson co., TN lists John, 9 with James.
 1880 census for Davidson Co, TN lists a John D. Cole, 15, living with brothers William H. Cole, 31, & Marshall Cole, 22. Marshall & John are students. Nearby are Charles H. & Leroy F. Cole.
 He doesn't appear on the 1870 or 1880 cen. w/JMC.
  !LIFE: Have copy of receipt, dated 5 Aug., 1882, that John signed for $375.55, received from Dr. J.T.H. Scott, his guardian. This was probably when he turned 21. It is apparently from the estate of his grandfather David Henry, who was the father of Elizabeth Henry, his mother.
  !WILL: Curt Cole has a copy of a will of John B. Cole, brother of Mrs. Nannie A. Jennings, recorded on 10 Oct., 1908, p. 447, October term. Wilson co., TN. To his sister Nannie he bequeaths all of his property at his death, with the exception of one two year old bay filly which he gives to his nephew Johnnie Jennings. Attesting were Isaac George & J R Howell? Transcription is in Word.
