Note: !SEARCH: Find obit. for Sam Davis, died May 8, 1953. Do I have this already? Photo of grave? !BIRTH-DEATH: 1880 Wilson co. TN, census. Name Harvey from Sue Howell's Jennings chart. Also Davis Doc., loose paper that I have, states Sam's birth & death dates & burial place as Jennings Cemetery. Says he died at 413 McGavock Pike, Nashville.

!LIFE: Ed Cole Jr. says Sam Davis lived at the Maxwell House in Nashville for many years & died there. A lawyer named Kykendall handled the estate. The hotel burned in 1960 along with all it's records.
Sue Howell's Jennings chart says that James Walter & Sam H Davis rode horses to Texas. Walter stayed but Sam returned to Wilson co.
Samuel's guardian R. Hyde rec'd for board & clothing $75.00. Balance $201.00. (1875 Wilson co. Guardian book.)
!CENS: 1880 census, Wilson co., TN lists Sam Davis, 13, with J. M. & Ann Cole. Listed as stepson to head of household. A farm laborer.
1870 census for Greenhill, Wilson co., TN lists Samuel Davis, 3 with mom Annie & his siblings.
