She says b'day may have been 4 July 1839. The 1836 date agrees with the 1850 cen. !DEATH: Sue Howell's Jennings chart says he died of lung ailment contracted during the Civil War. His will recorded Guardian papers (Wilson Co., Tenn. Misc. Rec., 1800-1875, p. 81, indicate he's dead by 1873. James P. Widow's one-year allotment recorded 20 Oct., 1870, seems to indicate he died on or prior to 19 Sept., 1870. Juliet library in 1991 states: James Everett Davis was a Pvt. in Company D, 45th TN Infantry. Enlisted 12 Dec., 1861 at Camp Trousdale. (Reel # 303) Was 26 years old. The writer says "I cannot recall ... all the details contained in his record. (my son has all my records at his home in Colton, Calif.) I am sure he died very shortly after his discharge from the war." Another note I have, source unknown, says that a James Davis, who was living in Wilson co. in 1890, served in F Co., 13th KY Reg. from '63 to '65. Could this be the same person? !CENSUS: He's not on 1870 census, although Ann is, with 3 month old baby. 1860-Haven't found him in it yet.
