  In service (Army) and sang with Tommy Dorsey and at a ball room dancing hall near Janzten beach. He worked all week and played on the weekends. He was 6'4" , dark eyes. He retired from the city of Hood River. He was the first one to have back surgery at Hood River. He worked out in the yard for the City and a back hoe or piece equipment fell on him and had to have back surgery.

  Newpaper clipping Raymond Victor Chitty Funeral services were held July 7 in Anderson Funeral Home for Raymond Victor Chitty, 53, resident of R. 3 Box 381, Hood River. Rev. Jim Edwards officiated at the 10:00 am. services and interment followed at Mt. View Cemetery. Chitty passed away in a Portland Hospital July 2, 1962 after a long illness. He was a member of the American Legion and the Christian church, and had been employed at Harvey Aluminum in The Dalles. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ester of Hood River; a daughter, Joy May Clabough, Pittsburg, Calif., a foster brother, Chester G. Zumwalt, Salem, and three grand children.
