Note: took him as her own son and named him Bert Leeson. Later, Aunt Josie & Uncle Elza Swain took him as their own and drew up adoption papers to adopt him as Bertram Swain. Instead, when he learned that he was an illegitimate child he ran away and was found by a Canadian mounty, who took him to Grandpa Leeson. He later hitchhiked with friend Casey Macnisci to the US.
