Notes
a. Note:   The following are notes from Charles Whiteford:- Charles Walton became the owner of several bullock teams and started delivering supplies to the northern areas. Sometimes he was accompanied by young Charles now in his late teens. Unfortunately, sometime after 1881 on one of these trips north, alone this time. he disappeared and was never heard of again. We can only speculate as to what fate had in store for him,. Did he desert his family to escape a nagging wife. (We are led to believe she was somewhat difficult at times.) Or was he atttacked and killed by natives or renegade whites, his team & supplies plunded or did he die a lonely death of thirst?
Emma Walton moved to W.A. circa 1894-1899 with her yougest daughter Elsie. Spent time in Cue & Perth W.A. before returning to Pt. Pirie.S.A.
------------------- Mrs. Pat Mahoney of Carnarvon W.A. has found the following during her researches in Adelaide.S.A.
BIOGRAPHY: Did Charles Valler leave Emma and live with a Sarah Hand in Port Adelaide? 3 children were born to a Charles Walton and Sarah Hand - is this our Charles Valer?
Daisy Valeria Walton b 11 Nov 1888 Exeter Port Adelaide Ref 426/491
Thelma Patience Walton b 6 Aug 1893 Sandwell Port Adelaide Ref 525/98
Charles Arthur Ravens Walton b 28 May 1899 Hamley Port Adelaide Ref 641/267.
The naming of the first child is similar to the name of Valler - a possibility - as the family story is that Charles was believed to have been killed after 1884 but he may have just run off with Sarah.
