Notes
a. Note:   Jame's death certificate states that he was 61 years of age, and that he had lived in SA for 37 years and NSW for 19 years. This indicates that he was born in England C 1841 and came to Australia C 1846, aged abt 5 presumably with his parents and possibly siblings. His father is recorded as James Weston, gener- al labourer. It is not Known whether the Weston family migrated directly to SA or came form one of the other colonies. We have a family story that the Weston family owned some type of iron-working business in Wales. This has not been verified. In 1994, Marjorie Sack (Nee Weston) commented that her father, Alfred David, was adamant that his father, James Henry, was Welsh and not English.
Little is known of James Henry until his marriage to Rachel. James Henry was usually known as Henry, as recorded on the death registations of several of his children. However his signature shows that he certainly signed himself as "James Weston" on the birth registration of Alice in 1874. The family of James and Rachel lived near Port Augusta circa 1863, at Burra From Circa 1867, then at Broken hill from circa1887, until James died there. James ' occupation was recorded initially as shepherd, then as stoker or labourer, later as dam sinker or well sinker. At Broken Hill his occupation was recorded as miner, later prospector. From Family history written by John Liddy in 1996, " The Weston Family lived at Broken Hill for about 15 years during which time five of the six children married. Henry and James Henry both died at Broken Hill, in 1901 and 1902 respectively. Most of the family move to the goldfields area of Western Australia in the early 1900's: the majority of their descendants remained in Western Australia, mainly in the Kalgoorlie/Coolgardie and Bunbury areas. James Samuel and family remained in Broken Hill, as did Henry's widow and daughter.
