Note: "Ira Edwards Sr., d. at home nr. Iron Hill, - Mr. Ira Edwards, d. July 30th, 1898, deceased was b. in Warren Co. OH, Feb. 22d, 1827 and came to Iowa in 1845 and has been a resident of Jackson Co. until his death. He leaves an aged widow and nine children grown to womanhood and manhood and all married but one and many relatives to mourn. Deceased has been a resident of Jackson Co. 53 yrs, was extensively in farming and the sawmill business in Farmers Creek Twp, and was elected to important township offices repeatly. He was considered a leading citizen and one of sturdy industry, who has born many hardships and sided materially in the upbuilding and development of the central part of the county. Soon the pioneers of Jackson Co. will be housed in the "Silent City, and those that came to Iowa in cloth covered wagon will lived only in history. The funeral services conducted by by Rev. W.C.
