Note: Obituary - The Daily Review Atlas, Monmouth, Illinois - 1 June 1963. Fred A. Hoy Died at Hospital - In failing health for many years, Fred Arthur Hoy, a resident of 904 South Sunny Lane for 38 years, died Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Monmouth Hospital. The son of Fred A. And Jennie (Nash) Hoy, he was born April 6, 1899, at Monmouth where he was reared and attended the schools. Mr. Hoy had been engaged in building contract work, and later operated a resturant on South Main Street. He was a member of the Ninth Avenue U.P. Church for many years. Survivors include his wife, the former Faustine Mincher, to whom he was married June 3, 1922, at Galesburg, a son Fred C. of Monmouth, a daughter, Mrs. Samuel (Dolores) Clark of Monmouth, two brothers, John Hoy of Monmouth and Robert L. Hoy of Lakeland, Fla., as well as six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, at the Turnbull Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Ellis Beeman of the First Christian Church. Burial will take place in Monmouth Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Chapel tonight, form 7 o'clock unitl 8.
