She was a milliner before she married Otto Menig in 1908 in Spokane, WA.
Blanche Leeming Menig was a resident of Spokane community for 53 years.
In later years, Blanche Leeming Menig resided at 5114 North Lincoln, Spokane, WA.
============================================================================================= Becker County was established by an act of the legislature on March 18, 1858, after being organized by a special law approved on March 1, 1871. The first county general election (to elect county officials) was held on November 6, 1871. The county was named after Brigadier General George Loomis Becker of St. Paul. Becker was one of three men elected as a member of Congress and since Minnesota couldonly send two, Becker stayed in Minnesota and authorities promised him they would namethe next county after him.
Located in the heart of what is known as the Park Region, it is considered to beone of Minnesota's most beautiful recreation areas. The highest point of land between Winnipeg, Canada and the Gulf of Mexico is in Becker County and a straight line drawn from Winnipeg to New Orleans would be right down Washington Avenue in Detroit Lakes. It is the only Minnesota county containing all of the state symbols: loons, pink and white lady slippers, wild rice, Norway Pines, blueberries, and our national symbol--the Eagle.
