Robert William Magnuson born Nov. 27, 1922 in Boise, Idaho. Bob attended grade school in Boise, Idaho and graduated from the Salmon High School, Salmon, Idaho in the class of 1940. He joined the Navy in 1941 and during World War II served as a radio school instructor until his discharge in 1944. After leaving the Navy, Bob worked for Pan America Airways in Seattle before returning to Boise in 1947 to take a job with Idaho Power Co. until his retirement in 1985. Bob spent his retirement living in Boise during the summer and Yuma, Ariz. in the winter. Bob passed peacefully on Dec. 3, 2007. Bob is survived by his son, Jerry Magnuson, Billings, Mont.; brother Donald Magnuson, Salt Lake City, Utah; stepsons, Robert G. Sims, Morris Ville, N. C., Terry (Spider) Sims, St. Pete Beach, Fla., Larry E. Sims, Eagle, Idaho, and Dan Sims, St. Thomas, B.V.I.; step-daughter, Mary Gerdes, Mesa, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Michelle Clark and Erik Magnuson; nine step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Mallory Clark, and Connor Magnuson. Graveside services will be at the Morris Hill Cemetery in Boise at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8. A viewing will be held prior to the graveside service at Relyea Funeral Chapel from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Please send donations in lieu of flowers to: Life's Doors Hospice, 420 South Orchard, Boise, Idaho 83701.
