a. Note:   Lima Daily News, Lima, Ohio, November 1, 1889 "The will of John Saum, late of Marion township, who died on January 31st, 1888, has been filed for probate. It is dated October 21st, 1886, and witnessed by John H. Judkin and J.C. Jettinghoff. The deceased left a widow, three sons, four daughters, and two grand-daughters as next of kin."
  Lima Daily News, Lima, Ohio, November 15, 1889 "The will of John Saum has been admitted to probate. It is dated Oct 21, 1886, and is witnessed by John H. Judkin and J.C. Jettinghoff andleaves all the testators property to his wife during her life and declares that the first payment out of the estate shall be a note of $521.10 due his son Matthias, with interest after the death of the widow, then $300 to his daughter Sarah and $1_0 to Matthias the balance of any to be divided among all his children and in case of the death of any of them the part coming to them shall be paid to their heirs."
