a. Note:   From The Athens Times, Friday, June 27, 1902 "Mrs. E. Simons and sister, Mrs. F.O. Brownell left Tuesday for Ann Arbor to see their father, Rugles Hulce, who is in the hospital there stricken with paralysis. He was lying in an unconsious condition and was not expected to survive long. LATER--Mr. Hulce died Thursday and his remains were brought here on this morning's train, accompanied by his daughters. The funeral was from the M.E. Church immediately afterward and internment was made in the Burr Oak Street cemetery by the side of his wife. Rev. L.A. Sevits officiated."
