Note: from The Evening Argus, Owosso, Michigan, October 30, 1902, page 5: "A duaghter was born yesterday to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lyon, of Howell street." Guy and Eva ran the "Shearer Tourist Home" in their home at 510 W. Michigan in Jackson. She didn't know there were bats in the house until she found one spread out on a pillow after a tourist checked out. After Guy's death Eva's son Ivan and his family rented all but three of the upstairs rooms in her house where she had her apartment. In 1966 she moved into an apartment at 510 S. Jackson St. in Jackson and later into the Reed Manor Apartments on Steward Ave. She was a resident of the Ganton Nursing Home on Robinson Rd. at the time of her death. Eva was a long-time member and President of the Blue Star Mothers, an organization for mother's of veterans. Marriage was performed by the bride's father, Rev. Frank Lyons. Witnesses were her sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Everett Hodge.
