Note: from CAMDEN ADVANCE, Friday, May 4, 1906 James Caywood died early Wednesday morning at his home on East Bell street after a lingering and very painful illness of rheumatism, being confined to his home for nearly eight months. Funeral services will be held this afternoon from the M.E. church, Rev. Farrar officiating, burial taking place in the village cemetery. Mr. Caywood was a man of sterling qualities, and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him. He came to this township almost eight years ago, settling on a farm northwest of town, and by his honest dealings gained for himself and family a large circle of friends who mourn his departure. He leaves a sorrowing widow and five grown children. He was 61 years old. from CAMDEN ADVANCE, Friday, May 11, 1906 "OBITUARY James Caywood, son of James and Elizabeth Caywood, was born in Williams Co., Ohio, March 20, 1845, and died in the village of Camden, Hillsdale Co., Mich., May 2, 1906, aged 61 years, 1 month and 12 days. Mr. Caywood was a veteran of the Civil war, belonging to Co. C., 195 Regiment, Ohio volunteer. His home was in Ohio until March 1897, when he moved to Hillsdale Co., Michigan, where he resided until the time of his death. Mr. Caywood was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Spealman, of Williams Co., Ohio, August 19, 1866. To this union were born seven children, two sons and five daughters. One daughter, Ada May, and one son died in infancy. There remains to mourn their loss three brothers and three sisters, Ellen, his wife, and five children: Mrs. H.W. Bates, Mrs. S.L. Wigent, Mrs. F.E. Darr, Carrie E. and Walter E. Caywood, seven grand-children, besides many friends and relatives. For the last fifteen months he has been a constant sufferer from rheumatism, which he bore very patiently. Mr. Caywood was a strong believer in the Scriptures and a great love of the bible. Although not a member of any denomination his interests were with the Methodist church. He was a good husband and father and a great love of home, always willing to help the needy and unfortunate. The funeral was held at the M.E. church in Camden, Friday, May 4, at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Alfred Farrar officiating. Interment in the Camden cemetery. We shall sleep, but not forever, There will be a glorious dawn; We shall meet to part, no, never, On the resurrection morn."
