WILLIAM SHERER After a long and tedious illness patiently born, Mrs. William Sherer passed into rest from her home on East Oak Street last Tuesday morning, September 9th at 6 o'clock having attained the age of seventy years, seven months and one day. Sarah Elizabeth, daughter of John and Sarah Feighner was born at Galion, Ohio, February 8th, 1849. February 11th, 1868 she was united in marriage to William Sherer and for more than fifty-one years they have journeyed together over the pathways of life; happy in each others companionship and with the children who came into their home. Of the six children born to them five are living to bless the memory of a faithful, loving mother; Mrs. Tillie Howell of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Jennie Raymo of Monroe, Mich., Mrs. Anna Parsons of Superior, Wis., William of St. Louis, Mo., and Archer of Defiance. Charles, another son died in infancy. Two brothers who were left without parental care in childhood and one grandson she took into her home and gave a mother's care. Her home was her realm and in this sphere she poured out her life in loving service. She was a member of the Presbyterian church, having united with that church at Holgate, Ohio in 1884, she was also a member of the Women's Relief Corps. The greater part of her life was spent in Henry and Fulton counties; coming to Holgate in 1875 and from that place to Fulton County in March 1901, November 1913 she came with her husband to Wauseon. She was a constant companion, a devoted wife, a loving mother and a kind friend and neighbor, loved and respected by all who knew her. She leaves to cherish her memory besides the husband and children already mentioned, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers, one residing in Pasadena, California and one in Toledo, Ohio and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the home on East Oak street Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock.
