Notes
a. Note:   From Montpelier Enterprise, Montpelier, Ohio, page 4, column 3, Thursday, August 10, 1911 "The subject of this memorial, Henry Sherer, was born in York County, PA, September 15, 1832. Died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Davis in Northwest township, Williams county, Ohio, August 4, 1911, at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 19 days. The deceased was united in marriage with Delilah Ann Spealman, September 23, 1855. Their union resulted in the birth of 7 children, 5 daughters and 2 sons, all of whom still survive. February 24, 1897, the wife and mother passed into the shadow of the grave. Since then he has lived with his children. During his illness he was kindly cared for by his daughter, her husband and their children--Mr. Joseph Davis and family. The end came quietly and peacefully, and the tired pilgrim passed to his reward. The funeral services, which were largely attended, were held from the Whaley U.B. church on Sunday, August 6, 1911, conducted by Rev. Geo. W. Long. The deceased leaves five daughters, two sons, eleven grand-children, eight great grand-children, one brother and many friends to cherish his memory. Interment was made in the Billingstown cemetery."
