Wood, of No. 2, Nashville, Barry, Michigan; Bert is medium height and build, with blue eyes and brown hair; signed "Bert J. Wood." In the 1900 U.S. Census enumerated next to Burt's parents, Frederick Duane and Clara Wood. from Battle Creek Enquirer & News, 23 Jan 1951: "Bert J. Wood, 75, a retired carpenter, died unexpectedly at 11 p.m. Monday in his home at 325 Wildwood avenue. Dr. Willard N. Putman, coroner, said death was due to a heart attack. Mr. Wood had been in ill health for the last three years. He was born in New York state, Dec. 7, 1875, a son of Duane and Henrietta (sic) Wood. His wife, Cora, died on Dec. 17, 1936. Mr. Wood is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lyra Bretz of Kalamazoo, Mrs. Clair (Gertrude) Wright of Nashville, and Mrs. Ira (Doris) Hull of 113 Quail; five sons, Leon Wood of Benzonia, Mich., Glenn, Leslie and Lewis Wood of Detroit, and Richard Wood of Marshall; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
