Note: #1 JOHN CUNNINGHAM II, born 13 Sept 1781 in VA, died 12 Oct 1858 at Rock Island, Warren, TN in the northern edge of the county, immediately adjacent to White County. He moved, with his father, from somewhere in Virginia between 1804-1812 and married Sarah Jane "Sally" Swindle on 6 May 1812. Their four children were William, Sarah Elizabeth, George Washington and John III. This JOHN CUNNINGHAM served as a Captain with General Andrew Jackson in the War of 1812. (1st Regiment West Tennessee Militia 13 Sept 1814-13 May 1815 at Battle of New Orleans) He was known as a Christian, Pioneer, Patriot, Farmer, Tanner, Carpenter, Blacksmith and Distiller. We know his father was in the American Revolution, probably in Virginia, yet we do not know the father's, mother's or siblings first names. I am a direct descendant and will gladly share any information to any interested genealogy researcher. Our y-DNA is Haplogroup I2b1
