Note: Descendants of John Loring 1. John Loring was born , probably in Ireland, about 1740-41; he died in 1830 place unknown. Tradition states that his father was David Loring who traveled from either Northern England or Scotland to Tyrone, Ireland to marry into the Swift family. John was impressed by the French when he was 18 years old but deserted and eventually found his way to America. He married Sarah Foster, daughter of ???, on May 29, 1769 in Pelham, New Hampshire. She was born in either Scotland or England and had several brothers and sisters. She died in 1812. John Loring enlisted in the Revolutionary War on July 11, 1775 and served in Captain Peter Parker's Company. He lived in various towns including Litchfield, New Hampshire on the Merrimac River near Nashua, and was still listed in war records in 1781. Records also show he received bounty money in 1776. Tradition states that Sarah's family owned property in England but had to give it up because they could not prove their Foster line descent after Sarah's grandmother died. John's will???
