Bacon were raised by Catherine Ellen (Walters) Johnson wife of Samuel Johnson and sister of Elizabeth (Walters) Bacon who was the wife of George W. Bacon, Elizabeth; Jennie & Perry's mother died in 1876 when Jennie was 7 years old and Perry was 9. George their father remarried and left his children in the care of his wifes sister.
