This is my Great- grandmother, my mothers grandmother. She and my G-Grandfather, lived in Overton, Texas. She was a very 'Sweet' lady, we were always greatly welcomed in our visits. All information from my Mother [Opal Gladys (Walls) Scarborough], Thomas C. Haydock and Milton Travis Haddock, Census and personal recollection.
I remember visiting them several times in Overton, Texas (It seems that we always visited them after we had visited other relatives and had been in contact with "Texas" chiggers, my brother and I had many a bath {in a detached building East of the Main House, where "Pap" stored his Onions and gardening tools} at their house with Lysol mixed in water to kill the chiggers). I remember visiting them at their son's Cleo F. Haddock's funeral {had a great motorcycle ride; and nearly starved, adults always ate first and I must have been bringing up the rear as the children ate, Aunt Vera saved me from going hungry}.
Blankenship family must have been great friends or lived very nearby to the Haddock family; Granville Fillmore Haddock married Elizabeth Jane Blankenship, 'Eliza'; Mary Luinda Haddock married Thomas Blankenship; Arkie B. Haddock married William J. Blankenship (Son of Thomas J. Blankenship and Tennessee Coates).
