Note: There is recorded a land grant of 290 acres in Brunswick County, Virginia, Grant #10, 1787, p. 530, Land Office Patents and Grants, to John Rosser. Adjoining this acreage was Nathaniel Woodroof. A land grant to Nathaniel, granted 17 March 1785, recorded 25 July 1788, Grant #18, 1788-89, p. 160, gives a boundary line adjoining Richard Woodroof. And thus, the descendants of the Rosser and Woodroof families who intermarried in Meriwether County, Ga. in the 1800's were neighbors in Virginia.
