Paxton and published by Higginson Book Company, 14 Derby Square, Salem, Mass. 01970, in 1990 and was originally published: Platte City, Missouri in 1903. Page 377 No. 336, Thomas Paxton son of Thomas Paxton: No. 288, and Jane Aston, was born on Marsh Creek, (now) Adams Co. Pa, in 1761, d. at the home of his daughter, Rebecca Hosack, No. 348, in Mercer Co., Pa. in 1851=1781, Jane Crawford, who died 1820. About 1794, he removed to Washington Co. Pa. His aged father followed him and died 1818. Subsequently the son moved to Mercer Co., Pa. After the death of his wife, in 1820, Thomas No. 336, lived among his children, visiting them on foot, and received from all a hearty welcome. He would sometimes walk a hundred miles, with no help but his staff. His social temperance and cheerful disposition, with a fund of knowledge gained by experience, made him a desirable companion; and his deep-toned piety inspired reverence. He was father of ten daughters and three sons. He was athletic and uncommon strength. His body was large and his legs short. His height was 5 feet and 10 inches. The children who remained in Washington Co. Pa. were 1. John 2. Thomas 3. Ann 4. Mrs. Clark 5. Mrs. Neeley 6. Mrs. Kyle William went to Iowa, and the others to Mercer Co. Pa.
