Mr. Orbra Shydell "Dick" Rodgers, 93, died Saturday, July 25, 1998 at the home of his step-daughter, Carline Harp Doyle in Little Rock. Orbra was born May 5, 1905 in Venus, Texas, the son of Robert and Lucille Crumley Rodgers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elvae Mae Gray Rodgers who was killed in an attempted robbery on May 11, 1985 at the "Ye Ole Townhouse Liquor Store" and his only child Richard Waldo Rodgers who died November 29, 1992 in Dallas, Texas..... Orbra retired in 1970 after working for the Borden Dairy 42 years in sales and accomplished several achievements and high awards in sales during his tenure. He was also awarded the Top Salesman of the Year Award for Arkansas in 1963. He was of the Southern Baptist faith. Besides his step-daughter,Carline Harp Doyle, he is survived by a step-son, Clarence Herbert Harp of Wilmington, North Carolina, three step grand-children and four step great grand-children. Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 28, 1998 at the Forrest Hills Memorial Park with Reverend Nolin Rollins officiating with Roller-Drummond Funeral Home Southwest in charge of arrangements. We wish to thank Baptist Hospice, Home Care and Home Link for their love and devotion to the medical world for the caring of our father.... The family ask that donations be made to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Monday evening at the Funeral Home...............
