a. Note:   In the army, Sam was stationed in the Phillipines, Alaska (9/49 to 3/54), Korea and the USA. He retired in the army as as Sgt. Major At the prison, he was administrative assistant to the director of the DC Dep. of Corrections Youth Center. He served here 20 years. Sam was active in collecting for the Alzheimer's Organization. A walk was held in his memory on Sept. 1999.
