Note: Lived in Alabama since Aug. 79 Ralph W. Cain Ralph W. Cain, 74, of Selma, Ala., died Thursday, February 12, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Montgomery, Ala. He was born November 29, 1929, in Byesville, son of the late Delmer R. and Emma (Sealock) Cain. Mr. Cain was a 1947 graduate of Byesville High School and a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene College of Nashville in Tennessee. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and pastored Free Methodist and Nazarene churches in Ohio, Tennessee and Alabama. He was a member of First Nazarene Church of Selma, Ala., where he served as elder, Sunday school teacher and was a member of the choir. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Clifford, Jesse, Warren (Gene) and Samuel; and three sisters: Eleanor Jackson, Bernice Deeks and Hazel Miles; and five nephews and two nieces. He leaves his wife of 52 years, Doris Hooker Cain of Selma, Ala.; a son, Ralph W. "Bill" Cain II of Byesville; a daughter, Mrs. Dave (Martha) Griffin of Sharon; two sisters, Pauline Jones of Gerry, N.Y., and Esther Selders of Byesville; two grandchildren, Mrs. Bob (April) Sears of Mentor and Charley (Minnie) Griffin of Caldwell; six great-grandchildren: Bobby Sears, Mercedes Sykes, Brian Sykes, Daesha Pritchard, Charley Griffin and Caelin Griffin. Services were held Sunday, Feb. 15 at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel, Selma, Ala., with the Rev. Larry Stover officiating. Burial followed at Pineview Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideons.
