Note: Lived on Princeton St. in Akron, OH After her mom died in 1936, Bernice stayed about a year and took care of the household. In 1937, Rev. Sams was pastor of FM church in Byesville and in 1937 moved to Akron. So Mom decided to go to Akron and get a job. She stayed with Rev Sams. She worked for a Jewish family, the Snydermans, runing the household. Pauline was left running the household back home. Ruth worked for a couple of families also- see Ruth Cain. At the Free Methodist Camp in Mansfield, OH, Ruth had a boy friend and got a girl friend for Clyde (Bernice) and they took a ride in a car. Clyde and Bernice rode in the rumble seat in the back. This was their first "date". The knew each other from the Akron Free Methodist Church.
