In loving Memory of David Dandie Cairnie Chemist, Thurso who died 7th June 1916 aged 63 years also his second son David Dandie Cairnie, M.C. 2nd Lieut 5th Seaforth Highlrs (51st division) Chemist, Brora who fell in action in France on 21st March 1918, aged 31 years also his wife Mary Wilson Bruce who died on 6th Feby 1924 aged 63 years and his eldest daughter Elizabeth who died on 7th Dec 1963 aged 71 years The grave is situated at the back of the old cemetery, facing the River Thurso. It is halfway down on the right hand side from the steps that lead to the river. It gives her parents and age but not her place of birth.
