On 31 March 1803 he was married in Weston, Mass. to Sarah (Sally) Russell, the daughter of Abel and Sarah (Bryan) Russell of Kennebec Co., Maine. Sarah was born Dec 1783 and died 1823 in Breckenridge. Co, Ky. Israel died 28 July 1841 in Perry Co., Indiana. On 22nd of June 1807 Israel and Sally sell their 83 acre farm in Kennebec Co. for $300 (the deed to this farm describes it as being bounded by the farm of Abel Russell). After selling their farm we next find this couple in the 1810 census of Essex Co., N.Y. Israel and wife were both listed as being over 26 and under 45 years of age with 3 sons under 10 and 1 daughter under age 10. In the 1820 census this family was in Hardin Co., Ky. From family recollections Israel and Sally Sweat had 4 sons and 2 daughters who lived to adulthood. Israel married 2nd time 24 Oct 1827 after death of first wife. Ref. Deed of Israel Sweat of Chesterville, Kennebec Co., Maine to David Fiffield with seal of Israel Sweat and Sally Russell on 22 Jun 1807. Ref. Israel Sweat died 28 Jul 1841, Perry Co., Ind. without a will. Charlotte Sweat, his widow renowned her right to Administer. Samuel Ewing was appointed Administrator.Inventory was filed 6 Dec 1841. The Bill of Sale for PersonalProperty was for $101.56. Ref. Israel Sweat was found in the 1810 Census of Essex Co., N.Y., the 1820 Census of Hardin Co., KY, the 1830 &1840 Census of Perry Co., Ind. The 1850 Census of Perry Co., Ind shows Charlotte as head of household. Ref. Birth Records of Chesterville, Maine show only one child, Hiram, born 23 Jul 1804 in Chesterville, Cumberland Co., Maine (from 1677 until admission to the union as a state in 1820 Maine was a part of Mass).
