Note: N. !DEATH: Lynn death record. !CAUSE OF DEATH: Acute conjestive heart failure, presumably chronic - Valvular endocarditis, rheumatic. !OCC: Sole Cutter !REL: Catholic !OBIT: Lynn DAILY EVENING ITEM, 29 Apr 1959 - James A. CONNORS, 70, of 71 Adams street, a past governor of the Lynn Loyal Order of the Moose and a prominent member of the Holy Name Society, was fatally stricken with a heart attack on the sidewalk in front of his home early last night, moments after he had bid farewell to his son, Joseph P. CONNORS, who had just completed a visit with his parents. Mr. CONNORS went to the curb to say goodbye to his son, who was turning his car around in the street on his trip home, as his father collapsed. Police were summoned and Mr. CONNORS was conveyed to the Lynn Hospital in an ambulance by Patrolmen Joseph DALEY and Bernard GALLAGHER. Attempts by the fire department rescue squad to revive him en route to the hospital were futile. Mr. CONNORS was born and resided in Lynn all his life. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and was the recipient of the "Man of the Year" award from the parish Holy Name Society for 1955-1956. He was employed as a sole cutter in Boston for many years and more recently worked in that capacity at the E.H. Hall Co. here. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ellen M. (FARRELL) CONNORS; 2 other sons, James E. of Lynn and Ernest D. CONNORS of Wheaton, Ill.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Mary HERSEY and Mrs. Doris KANE of Lynn; a nephew, Harold WING of Marblehead, and 14 grand children. Funeral will be held from the Landergan Funeral Home, 40 Nahant street, Friday at 9 a.m. with a solemn requiem high mass in St. Joseph's church at 10 a.m.. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. !MISC: Also known as "Jeff".
