Note: er, 42, who died at a local hospital at 3:50 P.M. Saturday will be held at Crawford Cemetery at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, Comptons in charge. Surviving are her husband Henry Baker; five sons Howard of Fort Worth, William, Benjamin, Elford Ray, and Melvin all of McGregor; three daughters Mrs. Victor Queen of New Mexico, Misses Lynett and Norma Jean Baker both of McGregor; two sisters Miss Nettie Plemons and Mrs. Haywood Thompson both of Waco; five brothers Henry Plemons of Hamlin, Walter Plemons of Fort Worth, Mack Plemons of Crawford, Will Cole of Fort Worth and Carl Cole of Grandview and her step father J.N. Cole of Waco. Lynett Baker Richards says her mother died of Brites Disease. The doctor put small pox? on her death certificate. Lynett said her mothers skin turned black from the poison in her body caused by her disease. I have a religion magazine that belonged to Bertha shortly before she died. I got it from her daughter, Lynett, who said it was probably the last thing her mother ever read.
