  2. Alton Evening Telegraph Date: 26 March 1960 Actual text: H. H. Westbrook Harry H. Westbrook, 71 Died unexpectedly Thursday night at his home, Mounted Rt. 37, Alton. He suffered the fatal illness, an apparent heart seizure, about 1:30 a.m. and died within a few minutes after he became ill. He had suffered no previous attacks and had been active and worked about the house Thursday. A resident of Alton for the past 35 years, Mr. Westbrook had been employed at the various industries including Standard Oil Co., Alton Brick Co., and Owens-Illinois, and had last worked as a custodian at Milton School. He had been retired for several years. Born near Springfield, Nov 12, 1888, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Westbrook. He resided in the Springfield area until moving to Alton, and on Jan 8, 1914 was married at Springfield to Miss Bessie Perry. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs Mary Wilson, Cottage Hills; two sons, Milton of Humbert Road, and Manford, Cottage Hills; 14 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Three sons preceded him in death. The body is at Gent Chapel where rites will be conducted Monday at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Upper Alton Cemetery. Friends may visit the chapel after 7 p.m. Saturday.
