Note: John Wesley and Elizabeth Jane (Barger) Sweat had moved to New Hampton Mo. by covered wagon around 1858 or 1859 with the Barger family. John Wesley did not like it there and returned to Rono, Ind by boat. Before they could move on his little daughter died there. One day she was playing happily outside in a large packing crate and the next day she was dead of cholera. A son, George Franklin, also contracted cholera and was blind for awhile but fully recovered. He died at age 95.5 and until the last 2 or 3 years of his life was reading newspapers without glasses. ----------- Household Record 1880 United States Census Household: Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father's Birthplace Mother's Birthplace John W.
