The number of traffic fatalities in San Diego since Jan. 1 was increased to 31 last night with the death in the county hospital of John Serrano, 52, 4124 Wallace street. Serano was injured Sunday night north of Old Town when his car, which he was driving south, suddenly left the highway and turned over. He was pinned under the wrecked car. He was taken to the hospital by the police emergency crew. It was believed at the time that his spine was fractured. His body was sent by Deputy Coroner Harry Leech to the Johnson-Saum undertaking establishment pending an inquest.
