  James Sorreno, the Mexican, who was shot at Old Town Sunday morning by a negro named Ralph Saunders, was reported last night to be in a critical condition at the Agnew sanitarium where he was taken after the shooting.
  Saunders is being held in the city jail pending the outcome of Sorrenos wounds before a charge is placed against him.

  OBITUARY: The San Diego Union, San Diego, California, Thursday, January 30, 1913, page 22 DEATHS SERRANO - In this city, January 28, 1913, James L. Serrano, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Serrano, brother of Louis A., Lee, John, Mamie, Nellie and Antonio Serrano and Mrs. E. Fournier of North San Diego; a native of California, aged 26 years.
  Friends and members of the Woodmen of the World and Foresters of America are invited to attend the funeral from the residence at Old Town tomorrow (Friday) at 8:30 o'clock a.m. thence to the church at Old Town where a solemn requiem mass will be held at 9 o'clock. Interment at Catholic cemetery.
