Notes
a. Note:   Henry and his wife moved to Thruxton where they farmed the land. The family held the "capital messuage" there for many decades. The messuage is a house with lands that was to be used by the Lord of the county or manor (township). Hence, the phrase "Lord of the Manor". This land was likely owned by a nob or the King of England and leased to Henry Noyes. A way to judge the stature of the family was by knowing how many seats they purchased in the church and where they were. The Noyes family owned the entire front row of the Thruxton Church. There are two huge (for England) tombs in the Thruxton churchyard with two or more Noyes family members in each. Henry died in 1737 and was buried in Thruxton.
