Note: 2 1/2 years old When Moving to Collbran. The Daily Sentinel Grand Junction Co. March 28 1963 Pg 20 Mrs. Nellie M. Lorimor Mrs. Nellie May Lorimor, 81, a pioneer of the Plateau Valley, died Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edith Graham, in Lakewood she had been in ill health for several years. Mrs. Lorimor was the widow of Alvernus H. Lorimor who died in 1928. She was less then three years old when she came to the Collbran area with her parents, Daniel and Jane Blackman who were among the first families to settle on Upper Plateau Creek. She was born at Morrison Sept 18, 1881. The Blackman moved to Delta in 1884. She was married Dec. 25 1900 at Collbran. She was a member of the Congregational Church. Surviving also are two other daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Finch of Medford, Ore., and Mrs. Beulah Woods of Cannon City;four sons, Daniel of Sweet Home. Ore, Harvey and Merton both of Collbran and Dean of Craig; two brothers, Ellis Blackman of Craig and Frank Blackman of Fruita; a sister mars Edith Hutton of Grand Junction ; 19 grandchildren; and 32 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Congregational Church at Collbran. The Rev. John Kemp will officiate Burial will be in Cedar Crest Cemetery under the direction of Martin's Mortuary.
