a. Note:   on, MA, March 8,1825. Moved to Cranston, RIwhere his father established an Iron Foundry. After a limited educationhe went to work for his father in the foundry. About 18, they moved toProvidence, RI where they established the "F. Fuller Iron Foundry" onSouth Main Street which continued till the death of his father in 1865.The business was carried on by the estate until 1876 when he and hisbrother, George Fuller, took it over under the name of "Fuller IronWorks". After the death of George Fuller it was incorporated, in 1894,as Fuller Iron Works and operated by himself and sons the rest of hislife. The Fuller Iron Works continued in business until 1937 when it wasclosed after a history of nearly one hundred years and included fourgenerations of the family.
  About 1858 Frederic Fuller, Jr. established a Brass and Bell Foundry anda great many school, church, factory and fire alarm bells were furnishedto the cities of Providence, Pawtucket, Woonsocket and the factoryvillages of Rhode Island and other places. (The bell at Swan PointCemetery was cast at Fuller Brass Foundry) His reputation for thesuccessful manufacture of large bronze castings (calendar rolls) forpaper machinery builders became widespread. Such castings were suppliedto manufacturers in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania,Ohio and Wisconsin.
  He was married September 1, 1846 to Mercy Sheldon Smith (died July 5,1896) and had four sons, Frederic Henry (died September 30, 1936) WalterSmith (died 1880) Rufus Clinton, and Edward Drake (died 1902). He was acharter member of the Central Congregational Church, founded in 1852, andserved on the Building Committee for the new church building on AngellStreet in 1892. He was a lifelong Democrat and served a term asrepresentative in the State Legislature in 1877. He died December 23,1912, survived by two sons and seven grandchildren.
