a. Note:   Gordon was an orthopedic surgeon of note in Montreal. He was active both at the Royal Victoria Hospital and the Shriner's Hospital in Montreal.
  He also taught at McGill University.
  He was President of the Canadian Orthopedic Association. He researched Legg-Perthes disease and developed the "Petrie Plaster" as a way of treating the debilitating children's disease.
  During the Second World War he joined the Medical Corps of the Canadian Army and was on a hospital ship that was torpedoed in the Mediterranean Sea, losing all their supplies. A good deal of his tour of duty was spent in Italy.
  Gordon's ashes are buried at St. Mary's Church, Hudson, Quebec. There is a stone bench in one corner of the cemetery given in his memory by his six sons.
