Note: Paul Thomas McNutt earned two doctorates, one in Music and the other Education. He went to Whittier College from 1930 - 34. I have a program of a concert by the Whittier Men's Glee Club in which he is listed as their president. He began teaching in Lincoln High in Webster City, Iowa, where his Concert Band won the National Class A championship. He became Dean of Music at Upper Iowa University in Fayette, IA. He married his first wife, Thelma Anderson in 1935, and they had 4 children. World War II came along, and he left them and joined the service. He served as a USCG Commander in charge of a flotilla of subchasers in Cuban waters. Their divorce was final in 1944. He met his second wife, Margaret Johnston in Miami, and they were married in Fort Lauderdale, FL. After the war he was Music Department Head at Omak, Washington, then the University of Missouri in Maryville, then Eastern New Mexico State College in Portales. In 1951 he completed his Doctorate of Education at the University of Oregon in Eugene. He then became Superintendent in Glenwood, Washington for 3 years, then Sprague, Washington for a 2 years. He was briefly the Dean of Education at Idaho State University in Pocatello before the US Government snatched him up and sent him to the South Pacific. He was appointed the Educational Administrator for the State of Ponapei, US Trust Territory of Micronesia. In 1967 he returned to the states and became the director of the Job Corps Center in Kooskia, Idaho. The in 1971 he became the director of the Job Corps Center in Cottonwood, Idaho.
