Wakefield, 66, a longtime resident of Aberdeen and a previous resident of Spokane, died Friday morning in a Tacoma hospital. Born April 21, 1902, in Portland, he was a retired plywood worker. He was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are four daughters, Mary L. Dale and Althea Aumick, both of Seattle, Mrs. Nancy Baker, Dalhart, Tex., and Mrs. Sylvia Dunbar, Aberdeen; one son, Larry Wakefield, Aberdeen; one brother, Howard Wakefield, Elma; one sister, Marjorie Wakefield, Olympia and 18 grandchildren. The body will be cremated, and a memorial graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Masonic Cemetery in Elma, with the Rev. Tom Hepworth officiating.
