  Joseph Delavan Hogue was a Private in the 138th Regiment, Illinois Infantry, Company E, for 100 days, in 1864. He was a son - the fifth of twelve children - of John Anderson Hogue and Annice Delavan, or Delavigne.
  24 Dec 1905, Seattle, King Co. Washington: Joseph D. Hogue, at age 57, married 1st, to Mary E. (Gilbert) Wells. For many years they lived together at Sedro-Woolley, Skagit Co. Washington, before Joseph came to live at the Soldiers Home at Malibu, Los Angeles Co. CA.
  In 1907, the Hogue's, living at Sedro-Woolley, were the foster parents of Charles Henry Cannon.
