 Services were held at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home for Robert E. Canton, age 82, of Hubbard, who passed away Thursday at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Robert was born August 20, 1921 in Youngstown, Ohio a son of Anthony canton and Lillian Arkwright Canton Sweesy and was a life long are resident. He was a spot welder for 44 years at general Fireproofing in Youngstown, Ohio retiring in 1983. He was a member of coalburg United Methodist church and a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He enjoyed making wood model boats.
  He leaves his wife, the former Dorothy E. Shores, whom he married July 26, 1947; five daughters Cheryl Cummings of Dyer, Indiana; Karen Fellows of Youngstown, Ohio; Roberta Winner of Cartersville, Georgia; Suzanne Carr of Plano, Texas; Joyce Mastropietro of Hubbard; a sister Audrey McCarthy of Northfield, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Scott Canton; and a great grandson Nicholas Campanaro.
