Note: 0 - 1872) * * * DANIEL T. PRATT Well-Known Elmiran Passed Away Yesterday Afternoon HAD BEEN ILL A MONTH The Deceased Conducted a Fire Insurance agency for Many Years Daniel T. Pratt died suddenly yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at his home, No 318 West Water street, after an illness of four weeks duration. Death was due to hemorrhage of the kidneys. Deceased was thirty-nine years of age, having been born Dec 14, 1862. He was educated in the pubic school of Elmira and prepared for college at Williston seminary, East Hampton, Mass. He afterwards entered the Sheffield Scientific school, graduating in 1885. In 1887 Mr. Pratt married Gertrude Loring. Upon leaving college he was connected with Pratt & Co., engaged in the hardware business, and later he was affiliated with the Elmira Building company. For the past eight years he has been agent for the Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance company of Hartford, Conn. The deceased is survived by his wife, two children, Loring and Katherine; his father, D. R Pratt, and mother; a sister, Mrs. Charles R. Clark, of Pittsburgh; two brothers, David M. and James D. Pratt. The funeral announcement will be made later. Daniel T. Pratt had a cheerful, sunny disposition, was a warm friend and a most agreeable gentleman to meet at all times. He was a man of excellent business abilities and was esteemed by all who knew him. In his death the community sustains the loss of a progressive citizen, warm-hearted and generous, whose death in the very prime of manhood is greatly to be regretted.
