Note: 72 at her residence in Nelson, aged 68 years, of cerebero spinal meningitis. Probably none of the victims of this terrible disease in this vicinity has left so large a circle of mourning friends as the deceased. The mother of 12 children, eleven of whom are still living, and all but one living in the vicinity of Nelson and Osceola she numbered among her relatives nearly all the citizens of the former place. She was born in England, came to New Jersey when one year of age, and at 18 married Joseph Campbell, who 50 years ago settled with his young bride on the Cowanesque river about 1 mi. west of Nelson is one of the earliest pioneers of that section. The howl of wolves, and the screams of panthers were sounds familiar to them for many years after they first settled. Mrs. Campbell. They never moved from the farm where they first settled.
