a. Note:   Wellsboro Gazette of Aug 1, 1974, p20 has: FRED C. ERWAY Fred C. Erway, 84, of Pinnacle Towers, died Tuesday, July 23, 1974, in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. He was born March 28, 1890, in Charleston Twp., a son of Floyd and Alice Owlett Erway, Mr. Erway was a retired farmer and a retired employee of Corning Glass Works. He was a member of the Wellsboro United Methodist Church. Mr. Erway also was a member of Charleston Union Grange. Surviving are his wife, the former Irma Gerow; two daughters, Mrs. Delores Dennis, of Painted Post, N.Y., and Mrs. Shirley Spencer, of Wellsboro; two sons, Donald M., of Middlebury, and Gordon F., of Wellsboro, 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 26, at the Tussey Funeral Home. Burial was in Catlin Hollow Cemetery. The Rev. William A. Snyder, his pastor, officiated.
