Note:   Wellsville Daily Reporter of Sep. 5, 1966, p5 has: Roy Hazlett, Dead at 81; Prominent Businessman WHITESVILLE --- Roy Erving Hazlett, well known businessman and prominent in Whitesville civic affairs, died Monday at St. James Mercy Hospital, Hornell. He was 81. Mr. Hazlett entered into the produce business in 1907 as a buyer of hay and potatoes. He was a partner in the firm of Litchard, Schultheis and Johnson; shipping produce from Allegany, Steuben and Potter counties. Following his retirement from the produce business, nearly 21 years ago, Mr,. Hazlett built and remodeled a number of homes in the Whitesville area. He later represented the Pennsylvania Cooperative Potatoe Growers, Inc., and became actively engaged in navy been farming. He was vice-president of the Allegany Mountain Vegciable Cooperative, which he served as a director at the time of his death. Mr. Hazlett served as Republican county committeeman for a number of years. He was past president of the Whitesville Water Company, and held membership in the Whitesville Fire Dept., the Whitesville Rod and Gun Club, and the West Union Grange. Born May 1, 1885 in Little Marsh, Pa., he was a son of George W. and Dora Handy Hazlett. He was married to the former Kate McAllister, who survives. In addition to his widow, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Russel Wildman, of Whitesville, and Mrs. Charles Tracy, of Long Beach, Calif.; two sons, Irving L. of Whitesville and Arling C. of Syracuse; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren;l two half-sisters, Mrs. Vivian Howe of Andover, and Mrs. Wilson Briggs of Whitesville.
