a. Note:   Wellsboro Gazette of Dec 22, 1966, p8 has: Mrs. Leigh Steele Mrs Sarah E Steele, widow of Leigh Steele, died Saturday in Clarion. She was 82 years of age, and a resident of Knox [sic]. Born October 27, 1884 in Wellsboro, she was the daughter of William and Carrie Barite Eberenz, and was a member of the Episcopal Memorial Church of Our Father in Foxburg. Surviving are a son. Howard E. of Knox, two sisters. Mrs. lone Copestick of Williamsport, and Mrs. Luther Jones of Corning, N. Y., two half-brothers, Donald Eberenz of Jersey Shore and John Eberenz of Corning, three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Services were from the Tussey Funeral Home Wednesday, the Rev Harry T. Frownfelter officiating. Burial in Wellsboro Cemetery.
