CROOKED CREEK, Nov. 14.—Mrs. Hardenburg was stricken on the 3d instant with a paralytic shock which affected her tongue and throat. Her speech is defective and she cannot eat any solid food. A Record of Her Life — Memorial-day In Nelson-Other Notes. Correspondence of the Agitator NELSON, June 1—Mrs. John Dunham Hazlett, aged 68, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs W. O. Monroe, at Elmira Heights. She was born in Caroline, Tompkins county, N Y., but when about 11 years old she moved to Farmington and ever since her home has been in Farmington and Nelson. She was married 47 years ago to John Hazlett and from this union there were born six children - Frank R. and Fannie Monroe, of Elmira and Nancy Pepper, Ella, Herbert and J. Edward, of Nelson. All survive her except Ella, who died 11 years ago. She is alto survived by three sisters and one brother. Since the death of her husband, March 15, 1892, her home has been with her son, J. Edward, of this place. She was converted in childhood and after her marriage joined the Presbyterian church. In 1885 she united with the Methodist church, and has been an intelligent, faithful, and earnest Christian worker. She was gifted with a wonderful memory and had just completed for publication a history of the Dunham family. The funeral services were held from her home on Memorial day, Rev L. A.   Death of Lucy M. Hazlett. Mrs. Lucy M. Hazlett, aged sixty-eight, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. O. Monroe, at Elmira Heights, Tuesday night of last week, of apoplexy. She went to Elmira Heights three weeks ago and was visiting her son and daughter. She suffered two strokes, the last one Tuesday. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William Pepper of Nelson, and Mrs. W. O. Monroe; three sons, J. E. and H. H. Hazlett of Nelson, her former home, and F. R. Hazlett of Elmira Heights; three sisters, Mrs. A. J. Howell of Horseheads, Mrs. James Hardburg of Holbert, Pa., Mrs. Freeman Miller of Custer, Mich., and one brother, Salathiel Dunham of Michigan.
